Our tours take place on the beautiful canals of Amsterdam and we will be looking for someone who has a passion for the city and its history, as well as a love for boating and the water.

Responsibilities:

  • Commandeer our open boat like a true sea captain, navigating through the winding canals with ease and grace (and maybe a little bit of swagger).
  • Enchant our passengers with fascinating stories and anecdotes about Amsterdam, all while maintaining a smile and a level of enthusiasm that makes them feel like they’re on a boat cruise with their new best friend.
  • Ensure the comfort and satisfaction of passengers, responding to any questions they may have.

Job Requirements:

  • Live in the region of Amsterdam and have a valid BSN number and/or work visa if from outside of European Union
  • A passion for Amsterdam and all of its quirks and charms, and the ability to share that passion with others in a way that’s both informative, relaxed and fun.
  • A good sense of humor and the ability to roll with the punches (and the waves, and the occasional tourist who insists on taking selfies during the entire tour).
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Language skill: English and preferably also Dutch.

The following requirements are preferred or you are willing to get these on short notice:

  • VHF licence (marifoon basis certificaat) or RYA Marine Radio Short Range Certificate (SRC)
  • The certificate for Social Hygiene (SVH)
  • Experience operating boats, preferably in Amsterdam or similar waterways.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary and bonus opportunities
  • Paid training and courses, so you’ll be fully ready to entertain our guests.
  • A fun and dynamic work environment, with a team of passionate and dedicated individuals.
