Experience the unique vibe of Amsterdam as the day comes to an end and the magic of the evening takes over. On the evening canal cruise, we explore the Golden age canal belt and the smaller canals in the charming Jordaan district.
Jump on board our small open boat, sit back and relax as we cruise through Amsterdam’s gorgeous canals. Your friendly Captain, who is also your guide, will tell you about the sights we cruise by as well as explain about the city’s architecture and share interesting and fun anecdotes that make up Amsterdam’s rich history and culture.
On this boat tour we’ll discover the famous UNESCO heritage canal belt, which comprises a network of canals to the west and south of the historic old town. We’ll cruise along the Singel, Herengracht, Keizergracht and Prinsengracht and the many sights they have to offer. We’ll also explore the peaceful smaller canals in the Jordaan area, where we cruise through the
Bloemgracht and Lauriersgracht. Here you’ll experience this unique neighbourhood atmosphere with its tiny houses and their historical stone plaques (gevelstenen) and many cute bridges. On this tour you’ll also see the Amstel river and Skinny bridge, Anne Frank house, Westerkerk, 7 bridges, Munt tower, floating flower market and the dancing houses.
Depending on the time of year that you visit, you may catch the stunning Amsterdam sunset and the magical golden or blue hour, both of which offer amazing photo opportunities for photography enthusiasts.
If you are here in early spring or late fall you’ll get to experience Amsterdam as darkness falls upon the canals and we welcome the early nights with its dazzling lights. At this time of year the bridges and canal houses light up and the canal belt turns into something truly spectacular.
Please note that in the middle of the summer the sun first sets around 10pm. However this route is still amazing and the city always looks breathtaking from water.
